Is Trump's support for Netanyahu really disinterested?

Radio Judaïca ·

Donald Trump's support for Benjamin Netanyahu is anything but disinterested, and Trump does not hide it. Urging Israelis to vote for Bibi, he gave his reason: "If Israel has the wrong leader… I am not inclined to do so". That job is Iran, a war that Washington and Jerusalem are waging together against the Islamic Republic. Beyond the visible support, a double language: furious at the escalation in Lebanon, Trump called Benjamin Netanyahu crazy on the phone. He expects something in return on Gaza, on his peace plan that is stalling in Lebanon and, above all, on normalization between Israel and Saudi Arabia. And the bet is risky: the man who says "I don't like losers", "I hate losers" got involved nine days before the Israeli vote, without knowing whether Bibi would come out ahead.
