Israel, a great and beautiful democracy
Translated from the French. Original: Israël, une grande et belle démocratie · French version
🇮🇱 Israel is a great and beautiful democracy.
After three years of a defensive war, terrible but necessary, which has cost far too many lives on both sides, the people will be able to express themselves in complete freedom. Neither a dictatorship nor genocidal: a free state, where 10 million inhabitants, including more than 20% Arabs, most of them Muslims, all have the same civil rights and the same civic duties.
It is wonderful to see this young Jewish State continue on its path, with its imperfections, those of a hyper-democratic parliamentary system that also gives a voice to its extremes. That is the price of full proportional representation.
The coming weeks will be full of uncertainty. I hope the country will keep, or regain, its unity. I am proud to be able to cast my vote, as a citizen.
Every vote counts. 🇮🇱
